To extend halogen bulb lifetime car manufacturers in most of new cars using alternating current. HID Xenon conversion kit require continuous current. Under alternating current Xenon bulbs starts flashing and can damage ballast / igniter. Solution for this is HID Decoder.

Also HID Decoder prevent Light Warning on dashboard for most vehicles: BMW E39 (5 series), E46 (after 2001), E60 (5 series), E65 (7 series), Mini, New Mercedes CLK, CLS and many other vehicles.
